Macquarie Community College opens Mount Druitt campus

Macquarie Community College has launched its new Mount Druitt campus, marking its 75th year of delivering accessible, inclusive adult education in Western Sydney. It represents the College’ s commitment to shaping stronger communities through the power of learning and connection.
Located at 3 Mount Street, the purposebuilt 450m ² campus is strategically positioned in the heart of Mount Druitt, close to key community and employment service providers. The site includes eight flexible learning spaces, a hospitality training room and café, breakout

Mount Druitt now joins the College’ s growing footprint of dedicated campuses across Greater Sydney, which includes Blacktown, Carlingford, Chatswood, Epping, and Ryde. In addition to these six locations, the College delivers hundreds of classes in community venues, online, and at employer sites— making it one of the largest and most accessible providers of its kind in New South Wales.
This expansion comes as the College continues to lead community-driven

The Mount Druitt campus will serve as a vital hub for place-based education, offering around 15 weekly classes in foundational skills such as English, reading and writing, digital literacy, and job readiness. It will also deliver full Certificate and Diploma qualifications in high-demand sectors including aged care, disability, childcare, business, and hospitality. Many of these programs are offered at low or no cost to eligible students.
“ The launch of the Mount Druitt campus is another step in our 75-year journey of meeting communities where they are and offering the kind of learning that changes lives,” said Ian Maitland, Chair of the College Board.
“ We are proud to continue building better futures through quality training and education right here in Western Sydney.”
The Skills for Education and Employment( SEE) program will be a major drawcard for learners in the Mount Druitt area— an essential service that supports adults in building the foundational skills required to transition into employment or further study. The inclusion of SEE reflects the College’ s enduring focus on working with individuals facing disadvantage, and its commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and practical outcomes through education.
The new campus also builds on the College’ s legacy in the region, where it previously delivered the Adult Migrant English Program from 1998 to 2017 and expanded its vocational education offering over the past decade. Now, with modern facilities, proximity to transport, and increased delivery capacity, the new Mount Druitt site reinforces the College’ s focus on providing place-based, employmentlinked training that addresses affordability, unemployment, and skills shortages in Western Sydney.
“ Western Sydney is growing, with employment opportunities, more affordable new houses and our own airport, there’ s a wealth of opportunity here and the College is ready to help people upskill, connect, and thrive,” said CEO Theresa Collignon.
“ We work with people often overlooked by traditional systems— migrants, carers, mature learners— and provide education that is relevant, welcoming and built around their real needs,” she added.
Guided by its vision of stronger communities through the power of learning and connection, Macquarie Community College continues to stand at the forefront of community education in Greater Sydney. As it marks 75 years, the College remains committed to meeting people where they are and helping them move from learning to opportunity.
The Mount Druitt campus will be fully operational from mid-July, with enrolments open for Term 3. For more information, visit www. macquarie. nsw. edu. au.
