And now for a little me time
MONTHLY CHALLENGE
by Lorna Gordon
Get outside!
As the scorching summer heat begins to fade, now is the perfect time to embrace being outdoors and make it a part of your daily routine.
Being nature is significantly better for mental and physical well-being compared to staying inside our homes and workplaces. Fortunately, we have plenty of parks and open spaces to explore, making it easy to step outside and immerse ourselves in the natural world. Whether it’ s a quiet green space, a scenic walking trail, or a local playground, spending time outdoors can have a powerful impact on your mood, stress levels, and overall health.
Getting outside doesn’ t have to be complicated. A brisk morning or evening walk is a fantastic way to stay active while enjoying fresh air and so is pottering about in your garden or adding plants to a balcony garden.
Enjoying time at a park with your kids or dog is another fun way to get out and enjoy fresh air, instead of being copped up, and if you have plenty of energy, you could take up an outdoor sport, cycling, running, getting out on a hike or enjoying a quiet afternoon fishing. You could explore a place you have never been before or take a trip over to the beaches or the mountains at the weekend.
Being outdoors isn’ t necessarily about being active either, simply sitting outside enjoying a book, chat with friends or neighbours or enjoying your afternoon cuppa in the sunshine can have the same effect.
The good news is that you don’ t need to spend hours outside to experience the benefits. Research suggests that as little as 30 minutes in nature each day can boost your mood, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing. Pairing your time outside with a walk or another form of light exercise makes it even more beneficial for your physical health.
So, as the temperatures become more inviting, why not take on the challenge of getting outside every day this month?
It’ s an easy, enjoyable, and free way to feel happier, healthier, and more connected to the world around you.

The Knowledge Project
by Lorna Gordon
If you want to know how past and present industry leaders and great thinker’ s minds work, are interested in finding out how to achieve great results or want to know what makes people tick, then dive into the Knowledge Project.
Shane Parish of The Knowledge Project talks to people who are currently doing amazing things in business and finance and breaks down the lessons these people have learned so that the listener can take it on board and use it in their own lives. He also looks into successful people of the past, who might have slipped under the radar, but who achieved great things with their business ideas.
There are so many episodes to listen to it was hard to know where to start! I found the episode on Este Lauder, who is a huge name in beauty, fascinating. She started as a small time business owner in Queens, New York and rose to supply cosmetics to the most elite store out there. Codie Sanchez talks about her road to financial freedom and how it’ s achievable, Brent Beshore discusses how to have a successful business and homelife, something many of us struggle to achieve.
These are just a few examples of the episodes, I don’ t think you would binge listen to this podcast, but it’ s an interesting one to dip in an out of. The Knowledge Project is available on your regular streaming services and also to watch on YouTube.
