It will be a green-and-golden evening by the river when Australia Day on the Hawkesbury returns on Sunday 26 January 2025 , with a spot of cricket for the very first time !

Our family-friendly community event runs from 5pm to 9pm at Governor Phillip Park , Windsor and is the perfect way to enjoy this special day with friends and family alongside our beautiful river .

The unpredictable shenanigans of event favourite Farmer Dave as event MC will ensure another fun and high-energy event for the whole family .

The thong-throwing championship is back for its third year , with junior , adult and emergency services competitions . Will Fire and Rescue NSW make it a third win on the trot ? We ’ ll soon find out ! Sign up to compete at Council ’ s tent on the day and stake your claim for the 2025 Golden Thong trophy .

New this year will be the Ultimate Cricket Game . Make sure you sign up at the council tent to be a part of a team . Competitions will run throughout the event with some cool prizes to be won . To cap it all off will be the always popular fireworks display at 9pm . Australia Day on the Hawkesbury 2025 will also feature :

• An outdoor stage with live entertainment

• Food and drink stalls plus food trucks

• Carnival rides

• Free face painting

• Emergency Services Display

There is also an inclusive play space at Governor Phillip Park . There is plenty of on-site parking available .

Whether relaxing by the river or under the trees , or taking in the river and stage entertainment , visitors are encouraged to bring their picnic rugs and chairs . However , please leave all portable shelters at home as they can pose a blow-over risk to other visitors , and they will not be permitted at the event .

Australia Day on the Hawkesbury is a dog-friendly event . Please keep dogs on a

lead at all times .

We are also marking this important day with the Australia Day Awards Ceremony and a Citizenship Ceremony , both at the Council Administration building .
