I was asked to go for dinner at the Drunken Chef Restaurant in Richmond last month ; it ’ s next door and a part of the Colonial Motel , 161 March St , Richmond .
It was a good decision as this little hidden gem has an a la carte menu as well as all our old time favourites plus it didn ’ t break the bank . Logan , the head chef and owner was very welcoming . We went on schnitzel night , which is every Thursday , and of course , we ordered schnitzels !

Bruschetta was delicious and we cleaned the plate in no time at all .
Schnitzel night offers a choice of five ; a traditional Classic hand crumbed one , Chicken Mexicana , Pumpkin Fetta , Pulled Pork and everyone ’ s favourite Chicken Parmi .
I ordered the Parmi and my guest ordered the Pumpkin Fetta . These come with a choice of chips and salad or mash and veg – be warned , the meals are massive so go hungry ! Our schnitzels were beautiful , huge , juicy and cooked to perfection with good flavours . All combinations of schnitzel are $ 25 or only

Wednesday night is pasta night , $ 20 a head and a choice of six dishes , Spaghetti Bolognaise , Beef , Tomato and Mushroom Ragu , Aglio E Olio , Prawn and Chorizo Penne , Chicken Bosciola and Veggie Delight . These delicious dishes at $ 20 are a great bargain .
The al a carte menu is available from Wednesday to Sunday and features everything from perfectly cooked steaks ( your choice of cut ), salmon , barramundi or tender pork ribs . The Drunken Chef also has its originals such as Porky Pig , twice cooked pork belly with a luscious

honey mustard sauce .
The Angry New York is a 300gm New York steak topped with chili prawns in a rich napolitana sauce , the Surfing Chicken is a tender chicken breast crowned with creamy garlic prawns and salt and pepper calamari .
Logan offers so much more than the items listed above ; go and see for yourself , you will not be disappointed .
