The AFL season is back in full swing for the year and it is great to see the Sydney Swans on top of the table with 10 wins after round 11 , and GWS Giants also valiantly representing the Greater Western Sydney area in 7 th place with 7 wins . The AFL is a massive sport and very competitive .

SCAN ME TO ACCESS OUR WEBSITE the mighty Hawkesbury Jets had a tough season in division 1 last year which saw them pick up 3 tough wins for the year against Newtown Breakaways twice and St George in a red hot field with teams including UTS , UNSW , Pennant Hills and North Shore Bombers . They are the big boys of the Sydney AFL with numbers to burn and from a strong AFL area .

Peter Kyle has done a sterling job steering the ship over the last couple of years navigating the Jets path through now they are fielding 2 sides in division 4 and division 5 . The Div 4 side are on fire this year leading the comp with 6 wins in 8 rounds including a 12.6.78 to 5.8.38 win against local rivals Western Magic at Blacktown , a 5.10.40 to 0.1.1 win against Newtown , a massive 18.9.117 to 3.3.21 win against Wollondilly Knights , 15.8.98 to 7.4.42 win against Manly Warringah , a very close 3.10.28 to 3.5.23 win against 2 nd place St George and a last up 6.5.41 to 2.4.16 win against North Shore . The division 5 side are struggling at the bottom of the competition , but the side gives players new to the game , the old veterans who want to give it 1 more year of glory before hanging up the boots and walking into the sunset , the opportunity to have another moment of glory and share their back in the day stories with the young guys or anyone that will listen in the club . It ’ s a great family environment in the club with a positive culture and they are playing good quality AFL football which is bringing in just rewards for the Jets .

They are in a tough market too fighting against an area that is swimming with rugby league talent and success , a strong soccer area and also rugby and basketball . PK looks at these other sports as a great opportunity to involve some of the
