catering service

Who said too many cooks spoil the broth ?
Not so at Hawkesbury Country Women ’ s Association ( CWA ) Evening Branch where many of its members are firm believers that it ’ s never too hot to get out of the kitchen . The branch has a finger in many pies whilst raising funds for worthwhile causes .
Branch members are a talented bunch of ladies when it comes to kitchen creations and craftwork , which are sold every second Saturday from 9am out of their hut on the Windsor Street side of Richmond Park .
The members also conjure up many other goodies such as jams , relishes and preserves . But these marvelous women , always keen to raise funds for worthwhile causes , have now branched out , offering a catering service and the hire of the CWA Hall in West Market Street for a variety of functions .
The multi-talented ladies have a number of different catering options available , depending on your type of event . The money raised by the CWA Hawkesbury Evening Branch is donated to organisations and charities in need .
For example , they cook all the meals for The Living Room located in Richmond , donate to many organisations including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Animal Welfare League . Take it from your writer , the fare these fair damsels produce is mouth-watering – I ’ m like a cookie monster at the hut !
“ We are able to cater for events of all sizes , be they wakes , naming ceremonies , birthday parties , training functions , board meetings , weddings and so much more ,” said treasurer , Tania Boyer .
To discuss your catering or to purchase jams , relishes , cookies , cakes etcetera , call Julie ( president ) on 0412 757 525 or Tania on 0408 561 305 .
And if you would like to become a member of this wonderful mob , give Julie or Tania a tingle .
Hawkesbury CWA Evening Branch meets first Thursday evening of the month at the hall at 18 West Market Street , Richmond .

2024 CWA of NSW State Conference

Recently Toongabbie CWA President Caroline Craig and Publicity Officer Amanda Manson , were delegates to the CWA of NSW State Conference held at Coffs Harbour .
Over 600 CWA members from all over NSW and the ACT came together to learn from keynote speakers on a range of issues that included domestic violence , homelessness , crime prevention , traffic safety , telecommunications , scam prevention , medical research , youth programs and precision medicine . The Conference endorsed more than 25 motions across diverse sectors such as health , law and order , education , transport and the environment for which CWA will actively lobby all levels of government in the coming year . The most important was a motion of urgency on the need for more action on rates of domestic and family violence which was the first item of business considered by conference delegates and was passed unanimously .
The motion includes a call for an amendment to the NSW Bail Act to change the presumption of bail provisions to a default against bail for domestic and family violence offences ; prioritisation of sustainable funding models for frontline victim support services – and services that target perpetrator risk factors - to ensure stability and continuity in funding for these services ; and the expediting of the establishment of a real-time system to record , track , and share information on perpetrators across systems and jurisdictions .
Joy Beames , the CWA of NSW State President stated that “ This was the first issue we dealt with when the business sessions began on Monday , recognising just how important this motion was to members who want to see immediate and meaningful action around current rates of domestic and family violence and we ’ ll be strongly advocating for the measures we endorsed at the conference .”
