A brand-new swimming facility will be built at the current Richmond Swimming Centre in Richmond , replacing the circa 1960s swimming centre with a modern facility catering to a variety of needs with the aim of operating year-round .
The Richmond Swimming Centre , which is an important swimming facility for the community , competitive swimmers , school swimming carnivals and more , and will be upgraded to include :
• all-season usage through an indoor and outdoor aquatic space allowing a new 8 lane 50m pool that separates into two 25m pools ( one with the ability to enclose during winter )
• accessibility upgrades to make the pools accessible to less mobile children and adults
• interactive , zero-depth splash feature park for young
Richmond Community Centre children
• increased shade throughout the site
• additional community infrastructure including picnic facilities
• improved water efficiency upgrades to aging plant and equipment .
Council is inviting community members to provide feedback on a short five question survey that is now open at www . yourhawkesburyyoursay . com . au or direct link www . yourhawkesburyyoursay . com . au / richmond-swimming-centre . The survey will remain open until Sunday , 19 May 2024 .
All the redevelopment projects will be funded through the NSW Government ’ s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program . The Program will see $ 2 billion worth of transformational infrastructure delivered across Western Sydney . Now is it the time to provide feedback on the planned facilities and have your say !

The Jeremiah Project to feature on 9GEM , Channel 9 and 9NOW

The Jeremiah Project , which is run out of the community kitchen on Macquarie St in Windsor , is the feature story over two consecutive weekends on Helping Hands - a television program broadcast across the Nine Network every Saturday and Sunday . Producers of the TV show chose to feature The Jeremiah Project because of its connectedness to its local community , and its positive impact punches well above its weight . In the television episodes , the founder of The Jeremiah Project and Hawkesbury local , Jacky Turano , explains how and why The Jeremiah Project started , and is moved to tears when talking about the people she serves .
“ We are so blessed to receive so much support from the local community , from our volunteers and local businesses ,” said Jacky . “ It helps us to be there for the community in their moment of need .”
The Jeremiah Project featured on Helping Hands as a two-part documentary , Part 1 on 27th April and Part 2 will be featured on the 4th May on 9Gem , Channel 9 and 9Now .
