SHARE YOUR OPINION ON COUNCIL ’ S NEXT BUDGET !
It is that time of year again when Hawkesbury City Council puts forward our 2024 / 2025 Operational Plan for the next 12 months . In this document , we detail for the community how much income we may acquire ( rates , fees and charges ) and then , how we plan to spend that by delivering infrastructure , services , programs and activities to the Hawkesbury .
Currently , the draft version is on public exhibition and we are seeking your feedback before Council votes whether to adopt it . You can do so by visiting yourhawkesbury-yoursay . com . au , our libraries or Council ’ s main office in Windsor and providing your opinion on our plans , up until the 7th of May .
The Operational Plan aims to deliver the priorities outlined in our Community Strategic Plan . These include delivering on the four key community outcomes for the Hawkesbury , which are : great place to live , protected environment and valued heritage , strong economy and reliable council .
In the coming year , we plan to spend $ 107.6 million on improving local roads and drainage , $ 39.8 million on upgrading public spaces , parks , sports and recreation facilities , $ 45.6 million on community and culture including local events , our libraries , Gallery and Museum and $ 39.1 million on waste collection , landfill and sewer . This is in addition to funding our Companion Animal Shelter , the Tourism Information Centre , Cemeteries , upgrading our town centres and delivering continued community engagement across the LGA .
We will also be working on delivering huge upgrades to many of our tired facilities through the NSW Government ’ s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program funding , including upgrades to Richmond Pool , Tamplin Oval , Fernadell park , Turnbull Oval , North Richmond Community Centre , Oasis and Woodbury Reserve , among others .
It is a big job to look after the Hawkesbury , given its large geographical size and our staff work really hard to present a beautiful and safe community . So , before your 12 Councillors vote on this plan , please take some time to read the document and leave us some comments . It really helps us in the decision making process – after all , the Hawkesbury belongs to all of us !
