The 25th of April 2024 will be the 109th anniversary of the first landing of the ANZACs at Gallipoli in 1915 . As we approach ANZAC Day , I would like to pay tribute to all veterans who have served our nation throughout our history .
I am thankful that our RSL Clubs continue to be the conduit in honouring the sacrifice and service of our veterans . Australian soldiers have always been known throughout history to stand up to challenges and use their fighting spirit .
It is a reputation of which we are proud .
Whilst many of us are experiencing challenging times with cost-of-living expenses escalating , there are always those who are worse off than we are . Our people are the life blood of this nation and we must continue to support and care for others , with special consideration for our veterans , who may be quietly struggling without anyone ever realising it .
Some days it is harder for them to put on a brave face than others , so this ANZAC Day , reach out to a veteran and show them you care and thank them for their service .
Remember , we proudly stand before the Australian flag because our veterans fought for the freedoms we enjoy today and many paid the ultimate sacrifice .
On this ANZAC Day , we say to our veterans ‘ Thank you for your service . You have our loyalty and respect .’
