The third week in March marks the astronomical start of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere , and I am sure we are all hanging out for some cooler weather . The tree canopies lining the streets in our beautiful Hawkesbury will soon start to change colour and form a delight for the eyes as leaves turn all shades of red and gold .
A couple of great ‘ horsey ’ stories this month ! Our Finest , Trevor Niass , p6 / 7 , is a well-respected and wellknown horseman , has starred in films and rubbed shoulders with famous actors and directors . In fact , he excels at anything to do with horses . In his early 20s he was a trotting driver and competed in the Junior ( Australasian Harness Championships in New Zealand .
Our annual show is always a winner but this year sees a new event , p8 . Hawkesbury ’ s Jordan Ridge
HDI and his partner Angela McGrath are compassionate about giving back to the community , and are putting on a steer auction , with all proceeds going to local charity , Pink Finss . Jordan states there isn ’ t a price as such on the heifer ; all donations will be welcomed .
Great news for art lovers - The Archibald Prize 2023 regional tour will be at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery this month and running until the end of April . If you missed this spectacular exhibition in Sydney then here is your second chance .
From portrait painters to mural artists . Windsor Rotarians have been busy fundraising for two talented artists to work their magic and brighten up some corners of historic Windsor : the pumping station and a large wall on the corner of the mall and Baker Street .
