Welcome to this month ’ s news and events , a month where I think things get back to normal , with kids back at school and new year ’ s resolutions being strictly followed !! Hey , we are only human …
Our Finest this month is not a local resident but a grand old dame of a building , Fairfield House . Craig and Sharon Nancarrow bought the beautiful grandiose house and are passionately restoring it to its former splendour . Wedding receptions , gala evenings , after five events you may be thinking , but no , the Nancarrows , following their move from running Dubbo ’ s acclaimed Golden West Motor Inn will be using and enjoying every bit of it as their home , p6-7 .
There aren ’ t many that have been in the Hawkesbury for a while that don ’ t know the name , John Miller . A revered and respected local , John Miller , OAM , p15 , passed away in 2021 and council recently decided on an apt place for his memorial . To this end , Streeton Lookout on Terrace Road , Freemans Reach ( one of
HDI his favourite spots ) was the place for his tribute stone to be unveiled , surrounded by family and council members .
Hawkesbury City Council have installed new safety signs at Macquarie Park in Windsor . They are part of a visibility and multi-lingual safety campaign and were developed with Royal Life Saving NSW . Council wants to keep the river safe for locals and visitors . Five different languages can be accessed by a QR code app with the aim to educating visitors on water safety .
