LOCAL LIFE

Together We Learn ’: New motto , logo and uniform unveiled as plans lodged for Tallawong Public School

Families in Sydney ’ s growing North West are a step closer to having a new public primary school , with the new motto , logo and uniform for Tallawong Public School unveiled as the project ’ s State Significant Development ( SSD ) application was lodged .

Tallawong Public School will cater for up to 600 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 when it opens in 2025 , while a temporary school will operate nearby from Term 1 , 2024 . The new motto ‘ Together We Learn ’ reflects the importance of creating a collaborative culture across the school , and is based on the firm belief that when students , staff and families work together , the best possible outcomes are achieved .

The school logo has been designed in consultation with the local community . It features the Dalawang tree , an apple gum tree found in the area , which symbolises a place students can learn and grow under together .

The new uniform will see students wear a mint green shirt with grey trousers or shorts , while girls also have the option to wear a green check dress .

The new school will deliver brand new facilities to meet the growing student and community needs and will feature state-of-the-art classrooms , a support unit , amenities , sports courts , hall , library and administration facilities .

Member for Riverstone Warren Kirby said : “ As our community here in Tallawong continues to expand , it is essential that the best infrastructure is delivered at the same rate as population growth .

“ The new Tallawong Public School will help in meeting that demand for more schools in the north-west . Building it is just the start .

“ We know there is more to do , and I am committed to ensuring families in the North-West have access to the quality educational facilities that they urgently need .”

The temporary Tallawong Public School ( located at Riverstone Public School ) will open its doors to students from Term 1 , 2024 in purpose-built temporary facilities .

Enrolments are open . Parents wishing to enrol their child in at Tallawong Public School for 2024 can visit : https :// ehub . enrol . education . nsw . gov . au / schoolenrolment /? schoolCode = 4686
