Firstly , I would like to acknowledge how humbled and appreciative I am , to have been reelected as your Mayor for another 12 months . To lead this community is an incredible honour , and one that I do not take lightly .
I know that all Mayors are only ever here for a small window of time and leaving a positive legacy is paramount to a successful term . In that regard , I will continue to do my very best for our wonderful Hawkesbury community
Here at Hawkesbury City Council , we are exceptionally busy in the lead up to many of our signature events . On October 14 , we have Savour the Flavour , a food and beverage extravaganza held in Richmond Park . This year ’ s event promises to be even bigger than last years and I encourage everyone to come along and join in the festivities .
Then on December 2 , we host our big Christmas event , Light Up Windsor , in our beautiful Windsor town centre . This is always one of the very best community celebrations in the Hawkesbury , as everyone really gets into the Christmas spirit , has a great night out and supports our local small businesses .
Make sure both dates are marked in your diary for some great fun and entertainment .
Some other newsworthy matters include : - Richmond Pool is now open for the spring / summer season , so come along to one of our great community facilities to cool down when it becomes hot ;
- The Breakaway reserves at
Freemans Reach have now been officially renamed as the Charlie Greentree Oval and the George Greentree Oval , acknowledging their combined decades of volunteer service to cricket in the Hawkesbury ;
- Council welcomed 120 new Citizens in September , which is always a very special day as people choose to permanently call Australia ( and the Hawkesbury ) home ;
