A huge crowd celebrated a fantastic day of racing and entertainment at Hawkesbury ’ s 18th standalone Hawkesbury Cup meeting .
Hawkesbury Race Club Chief Executive Officer James Heddo stated , “ We have been able to offer a complete package of high-quality racing as well as plenty of off course entertainment , which has been embraced by the local Community .”
“ What was most pleasing was that many of our on-course patrons were new customers and families who are generally unable to attend racing at Hawkesbury at a midweek meeting due to work commitments . This is in line with Racing NSW strategy of attracting support from the younger generation who can be introduced to racing by attending these exciting racing events .”
|
“ The Hawkesbury standalone meeting was established in 2006 and continues to go from strength to strength . I look forward to now working with Racing NSW to add to the program with a race that will not only enhance our racing but offer horses coming out of the world class Championships Racing Carnival more options to continue their racing campaigns in NSW .”
And it wasn ’ t just the high standard of horses out on the racetrack on the day , it was mirrored by big fields which competed in the 2023 Hawkesbury Race Club ’ s annual Fashions in the Field .
Punters found it difficult picking winners throughout the 10-race program and so did spectators who ran their eyes over the ladies and

gentlemen who faced the judges in the fashion stakes .
The bloke up in the judge ’ s box had a tough time splitting results in a couple of races and so too did Fashions judges , Lisa Wellings and Kiersten Duke , in selecting their winning choices .
Lisa , who had a highly successful career training and exhibiting show horses , is a legend in the Australia-wide Fashions in the Field events as a competitor and judge .
Over the past two decades Lisa has not only won almost 50 titles around the country and amassed more than $ 200,000 in prizes , she has a reputation as an esteemed judge of the events .
Yep , Lisa knows a thing or a thousand about dressing up !
Kiersten , SKY Racing on-air presenter and tipster , also wore another hat as Mistress of Ceremonies and had much delight in
