REPRESENTING THE VIEWS OF THE COMMUNITY
VALE VIVIENNE
It is with great sadness that the Community
Board of Advice share the news of the passing of Vivienne Beggs ( nee Crockford ). Vivienne passed away peacefully on Tuesday 4 October , surrounded by her loving family .
Vivienne ’ s contribution to Hawkesbury District
Health Service and the greater community was both significant and admirable . Healthcare held a special place in Vivienne ’ s heart and she was a fierce advocate for the consumer . Vivienne served as a member on our Community Board of Advice from 2014 to 2021 . During this time , she participated as a consumer representative on various standard committees , was guest judge at the hospital ’ s highly contested Christmas decoration judging and contributed to special events such as Daffodil Day and International Nurse ’ s Day .
Vivienne ’ s passion for healthcare may be traced back to her years spent working as a registered nurse and midwife . She commenced her training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before working across various locations in country NSW , Western and South Western Sydney . Vivienne had a special interest in midwifery and spent time in the Pacific Islands region , training nurses in this speciality . Vivienne ’ s nursing career spanned an incredible 54 years .
Vivienne led a remarkable life of service and compassion . Her community involvement extended beyond healthcare and included membership with the Hawkesbury Patchwork Friends , Windsor District Baptist Church Fingers Craft Group and Book Club . Vivienne was also a devout Christian and supported her husband Uel during his ministry work .
Vivienne will be remembered for many things but for us as a community , she will best be remembered for her wise counsel , warm personality and witty sense of humour . Community Board of Advice member , Allen Bouveng stated so eloquently , “ she has been promoted to glory to be safe in the Father ’ s arms ”.
Thank you for your service and may you rest in peace .
HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERS
Hawkesbury District Health Service network of volunteers are at the heart of the health service and they work tirelessly to raise funds for much needed hospital equipment .
In the last few years , their fund-raising efforts have taken a hit with pandemic restrictions resulting in the cancellation of many fund-raising events . The good news is , they are back ! And there will be ample opportunity to show your support and perhaps pick up some early Christmas goodies .
You can support our volunteers at the following events :
· Thursday 8 December : Our volunteers will be back at Bunnings McGraths Hill from 6.00pm to 8.00pm with a variety of Christmas themed food .
· Friday 9 and 16 December : Raffle night at Riverstone Club . Raffle tickets will be available for the Hospital Auxiliary Christmas stocking .
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

We are excited to welcome back ex members , staff , leaders and the many others who have supported the Community Board of Advice over the years .
