REPRESENTING THE VIEWS OF THE COMMUNITY
OUR HOSPITAL ON PARADE WHEN THEY FIRST MOVED TO DAY STREET . An old article in the Hawkesbury Gazette from July 1996 , talks of Windsor coming to life with a street parade celebrating the opening of a new district hospital and health facility to be known as Hawkesbury District Health Service . The facility opened its doors in 1996 with the first patients welcomed in August of that year . The article goes further to say that the General Manager at the time , applauded the community ’ s support and assured the people that the facility would be well worth the wait .
HOW WE HAVE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS . Hawkesbury District Health Service is certainly a worthwhile and valuable service to the Hawkesbury community . In one year alone , an average of over 28,000 people attend the hospital ’ s emergency department , 53,000 use the Community Health services and over 700 babies are born at the hospital . As demand for services in the Hawkesbury grows , they continue to look at ways of improving their services while meeting the health care needs of the community .
WHAT IS NEW AT THE HOSPITAL ? Additional car parking spaces have been made available with the completion of a new sealed car park area . The new area allows for an additional 40 cars . Car parking continues to be free . Thank you , Hawkesbury Hospital .
Patients and visitors will also notice a new outdoor seating area for the coffee shop . And inside , a refurbished day surgery waiting area which offers more privacy , softer lighting and a soothing colour palette to promote a welcoming and calming environment for patients , while awaiting their procedure .

LAW & ORDER

“ We are closing your file ”

with Anthony McDonnell of McDonnell Schroder
In my experience , as an accredited specialist in personal injury law , when an insurer says , “ We are closing your file ” it is a tactic for a potential claimant to believe they have no further legal rights .
Nothing could be further from the truth . For example , worker ’ s compensation rights can be re-ignited when there is a deterioration of a worker ’ s condition , for example , later surgery for a knee replacement or back surgery .
The insurer may have “ closed the file ” prior to such surgery but that does not necessarily mean the end of your claim .

You only pay us when you win *

CLAIM DENIED ?

Insurance companies sometimes don ’ t tell the full facts

WE STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS
WE ARE YOUR PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS
Insurers have a panel of doctors upon who they rely .
Invariably , their evidence appears to favour the insurance company who engages them . Of course , this can be said of doctors who give evidence for the opposing side to the insurance company .
One famous quote from a NSW Supreme Court Judge referred to three medical experts for the insurance company as the “ unholy trinity ” and “ who think you can do a full week ’ s work without any arms and legs ”.
The point is that when the insurer suggests it has medical evidence that indicates it will “ be closing its file ”, the injured person should not immediately accept this statement from the insurer .
As I have stated in this column for many years , obtain legal advice . At McDonnell Schroder we offer the first consultation free and my experience is that we will be opening your file not closing it !
