SHREK THE MUSICAL JR . is playing at Richmond School of Arts from September 23 through to October 2 , with an array of show times . The 60-minute musical adventure is based on the 2001 Dreamwork ’ s film Shrek .

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek the Musical JR , based on the Oscarwinning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical . It ’ s a “ big bright beautiful world ” as everyone ’ s favourite ogre , Shrek , leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance .
Part romance and part twisted fairytale Shrek JR . is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family .
Once upon a time , in a faraway swamp , there lived an ogre named Shrek . One day , Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairy-tale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad , a tiny terror with big ambitions .
When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad , he ’ s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona , his swamp will be righted .
Shrek tries to win Fiona ’ s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad , but a fairy-tale wouldn ’ t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way .

Not Okay is Disney +’ s new satirical dark comedy written and directed by Quinn Shephard . It follows a young woman , desperate for fame and attention , who finds herself caught in the middle of a lie when she fakes a trip to Paris and goes viral as a survivor of a tragedy . Although I was initially sceptical going into this film , because OMG she is amazing .
I found it was actually one of the more She puts so much love , anger , successful attempts at critiquing social and pain into her performance , I media . Compared to similar movies that honestly think that for some of it explore the dark side of social media fame she wasn ’ t even acting . such as Mainstream ( 2020 ), Not Okay has layers Though it adds little to the ‘ social media is to it that makes it both engaging and critical of bad ’ discourse , it doesn ’ t really matter because how certain demographics use the internet to the plot is unique , it makes the themes of the exploit minorities to increase their popularity . It film seem fresh . However , I can ’ t help but think also manages to consider how society creates of Dear Evan Hansen ( a tony award-winning platforms that will ultimately favour mediocrity musical ) while watching . But instead of giving over something meaningful because all they want the main character a redemption arc by the end is an escape . of the film , Not Okay manages to subvert this
The main character Danni Sanders , played narrative which makes the movie that much incredibly well by Zoey Deutch , is both chronically more impactful . online and so out of touch with mainstream
Overall , although this movie gave me a media . This juxtaposition creates a complex yet serious case of second-hand embarrassment unlikable character that by the end of the movie while watching it , I loved it and could watch it you have absolutely no sympathy left for her . over and over again . There is so much attention In fact , most of the characters in this movie are to detail that I could probably find something unlikeable . Except for Rowan Aldren played by new after every rewatch . Mia Issacs .
I also never thought Dylan O ’ Brian could give I would like to take a moment to appreciate me the ick , but here we are . Anyway , stan Rowan . the breath-taking performance of Mia Issacs Not Okay is available to watch on Disney +

Music connects all of us , it ’ s a language that needs no words and knows no borders , but why is it such an important thing in many people ’ s lives ?
Music is really good for our wellbeing , if you have ever put on your favourite song and danced to it , you ’ ll understand that it can instantly lift your mood . It can also calm us down ; many people like to listen to soothing music when they are stressed or to help them get to sleep .
Using music to help our moods has been taken one step further by Brain Fm ( www . brain . fm ) who have used neuroscience and psychology to develop music specifically to help you focus , work out or sleep and has run experiments in academic institutions to ensure they work !
Not only can music play a part in our mood , but it can also help with brain development . Young children learn through rhymes , like the ABC song to learn the alphabet , which most adults can still sing , and use , when they are done with school .
Music connects us to our cultures , singing the national anthem in schools or at events shows pride in our nation . Being Scottish , I love the skirl of bagpipes , but it ’ s definitely a sound that not everyone will enjoy ! Music from any culture will bring you together with people who understand what is symbolises and it ’ s often connected to traditional dances which makes it even more enjoyable .
So , the next time you switch on the radio , put on your favourite music or sing in the shower , take a moment to think how it helps improve your day .
