5 minutes with … Kingsley Stewart GENERAL MANAGER , DOMAIN SECURITY AND FIRE SAFETY
A genuine bloke with a down-to-earth attitude , that ’ s Kingsley Stewart , the general manager of nationally operated Domain Security and Fire Safety .
Kingsley has spent the past 25 years heading up this successful Australian-owned family business which offers scalable , integrated systems for the commercial and industrial security market .
“ We provide a total security solution . We install and service all access control , video surveillance and intruder detection . Our fire protection company provides portable firefighting equipment , extinguishers and a complete maintenance service to Australian Standards ,” Kingsley said .
A long-time Hawkesbury resident , this Blacktown-based businessman loves enjoying an active lifestyle as much as he enjoys providing electronic security and fire safety solutions for businesses of all sizes , and household applications .
He ’ s committed to providing the best service , simply and efficiently – as echoed in the group ’ s business slogan .
“ One number to ring , one person to talk to , one bill at the end of the month ,” Kingsley said , “ that ’ s regardless of what services the Domain Group is providing .
“ We provide a number of options for our clients , who all have individual needs , but for any business the two biggest risks are theft and fire .
“ We also provide ancillary services including data cabling , audio and visual network access systems , testing and tagging , electrical safety knowledge and even workplace drug and alcohol testing .”
It ’ s Kingsley ’ s authenticity and his company ’ s simple work ethic that follows the business throughout its dealings .
“ I like being a Hawkesbury Chamber member because of the people ,” he said . “ It ’ s genuine , it ’ s not cliquey like some groups can be .
“ People are there to help each other to give advice or service . Members all participate together to help grow your business and theirs – it ’ s a win-win .
“ Living here for many years has given us a strong base in the Hawkesbury .”
Married to Mary , with three children , four grandchildren and a fur baby , Kingsley is a lover of the great outdoors , being a motorcycle and campervan enthusiast , and is also known to enjoy catching a fish or two on his travelling adventures .
Celebrating 25 years is a milestone for any business , especially a family one , and Kingsley said Domain Security and Fire Safety looks forward to being of service to the district for many years to come .

Your writer and our ace photographer Kathryn Johnston made our first visit to North Richmond Community Centre ( NRCC ) earlier this year to cover the centre ’ s innovative Café Connections concept .
Café Connections is the weekly popup café held every Wednesday between 10am-12pm for anyone enjoying meeting and socialising with others in a casual and happy atmosphere , with free coffee , tea , and cookies !
But there ’ s much more to NRCC than Café Connections . Much more !
Birgit Walter , the centre ’ s passionate manager had much delight in bringing us up to speed about what NRCC brings to the community .
So , there we were again recently to take a photograph of Sue Catlett teaching a line dancing class but primarily to let Birgit run free in informing us how the centre serves the community .
Birgit has worked in the community and disability services for 30 years and has been the proud manager of NRCC since 2011 .
“ In an age dominated by online connections , loneliness and anxiety , the centre aims to provide many and varied opportunities for people of all ages to meet like-minded others , have fun , find support , make friends , and to feel connected again in real life and to have a feeling of belonging ,” Birgit explained .
“ Especially after the last two years of lock downs and COVID restrictions it ’ s great to see the centre buzzing again with activity !”
You could get anything you want at Arlo Guthrie ’ s Alice ’ s Restaurant and so too can a large cross section of our community at NRCC .
NRCC occupies three buildings on the site at 33 William Street , North Richmond – the Community Centre , Youth Centre and the Out of School Hour Care which includes the Fun Factory .
Let ’ s have a gander at what this amazing facility offers our community .
Activities and programs for families with young children :
• The ‘ Group4Mums ’ where women with young children can meet in an informal and relaxed way , have a cuppa , chat and meet other mums . This group meets Tuesdays during school terms from 9.30am- 11.30am and has childcare as well so mums can have a bit of a break . Group and childcare are free !
• Playgroup meets Wednesday mornings from 10:00am-12:00pm
• The Young Parents ’ Network meets here on Thursday mornings during school terms from 10:00am- 12:00pm – a free group for parents 15-25 years old .
• Family Fun Days and other activities focusing on encouraging reading and singing to young children right from birth . The next Family Fun Day will be Wednesday , 21 September .
