CONGRATULATIONS
To Kerry Barry who was recognised recently for her passion and excellence in nursing care at Hawkesbury Hospital for the past 40 years . I remember when my children were small and meeting Kerry in the Children ’ s Ward , she impacted our lives back then when one of our son ’ s was admitted to the hospital . Kerry recognised immediately and made the necessary referral to the local paediatrician at the time , saving our son ’ s life . We have never forgotten . With International Nurses Day , we were thrilled to see Kerry recognised . Congratulations Kerry and thank you .

Members of the CBOA are very proud to see the 3 C ’ s Program making such a difference in the provision of Compassionate Care and Communication as an integral part of the health care provided at St John of God Hawkesbury Hospital . This program achieves transformative change and quality patient care and involves partnering with patients , their families , and all of the staff involved with the patient and their families .

Volunteers
Are now back at the hospital , and doing a great job in the hospital gift shop . You cannot go past the little shop without having a browse , the ideal place to pick up gifts for the patients or even the family .

25 NOW 26 YEARS OF THE CBOA
The CBOA have been a partner with Hawkesbury District Health Service for now into our 26th year , what an achievement . A perfect opportunity to celebrate . Unfortunately , due to COVID we have had to postpone several dates , but we are now planning for an exciting celebration with the old and the new all together like one happy family .

More than 120 people throughout the district and beyond attended Hawkesbury Chamber of Commerce ’ s Women in Business Lunch at Richmond Club on Wednesday , 11 May .
“ Business in the Hawkesbury is back ,” chamber president Angela Dye declared to a cheering audience .
“ We are strong , we are resilient and we ’ re coming together to get things done .”
The special lunch event , the first since the COVID-19 pandemic locked everything down , attracted local business leaders , politicians , organisation heads and small business owners .
It featured guest speaker entrepreneur Naomi Simson , founder of RedBalloon and co-founder of the Big Red Group .
Ms Simson shared her insights into how she began online business venture
RedBalloon from her loungeroom in 2001 , growing it into a successful international model .
A Shark on TVs Shark Tank program and the author of the newly-released Live What You Love , Ms Simson ’ s downto-earth , engaging approach to business acumen , common sense and her rallying cry of “ persistence , persistence , persistence ” was well received by the audience .
The three-course business lunch also featured a lively Q & A panel with Angela Dye ( chamber president ), Ms Simson , Katherine Hawes ( principal solicitor Digital Age Lawyers ) and Kimberley Talbot ( CEO Richmond Club Group ) taking questions from the floor .
