Dave Cranshaw

Dave and his adored late mother , Bev , got into old things in 1992 but Dave always had a passion for the past , beginning for a love of classic Holden cars . “ It was cars – Holden cars ,” he replied . “ I bought my first car when I was 16 – a 1972 two-door HQ Monaro and at the moment I have a 1971 HG Monaro and a 1978 HZ Holden one-tonner , which is still Windsor Restoration ’ s workhorse .”
Dave Cranshaw grew up in West Pennant Hills and he was educated at the local public and high schools .
“ I left at the end of Year 10 and worked with my dad , Les , who had a washing machine repair business ,” Dave said .
“ I was with dad for a year and then landed a job as a shop assistant at the local Thompson ’ s Corner Hardware which was

owned by Greg Brown who also had stores in Dural and Kenthurst .
“ A year after starting with Greg and still only just 19 , much to my surprise and delight , he offered me the management of the Thompson ’ s Corner store .”
Dave retained the position until 1992 when he and Bev , who had been living at 64 Cox Street , South Windsor , in a house they bought in 1987 , formed a partnership and opened Windsor Restorations .
“ We worked seven days a week to make a go of the new venture and the hard work we put in back then has reaped its rewards ,” Dave said .
The company has been a strong supporter for local organisations and charities in supplying light fittings and other products for raffles and auctions .
As is my want , I naturally enquired when Sharon came into Dave ’ s life .
“ We met when she was a junior manager in the Thompson ’ s Corner Coles when I went in to buy something ,” Dave said .
“ For five years we were just friends then in 1990 our relationship became more serious , and we married another five years later at Windsor ’ s St Matthew ’ s Anglican Church .”
The couple are proud parents of Cassandra , 23 , who operates a restaurant at North Haven with her husband , 20-year-old Lachlan
Partners in love and business – Dave and Sharon Cranshaw on their wedding day at Windsor ’ s St Matthews Anglican Church .
is Windsor Restoration ’ s website manager , and Madison , 18 , who is studying teaching and psychology at Macquarie University .
Sharon , a very dab hand in the kitchen , does the bookkeeping for Windsor Restoration and sates her cooking passion , preparing meals at a West Pennant Hills child-care centre .
These days , Dave and Sharon can set aside time to pursue their strong interest in camping and caravanning and Dave , in particular , is hooked on fishing .
And on that line , we ’ ll end this story .

“ I ’ ve made commitments around upgrading parks , including Woodbury Reserve at Glossodia , and also doing improvements to the North Richmond Community Centre , so I look forward to working closely with council on those .
“ Federal funding for the duplication of Richmond Bridge has been locked in and will be delivered over the next few years , as forecast by the previous government . It ’ s a very significant piece of infrastructure and a briefing from the NSW Government on the project is a top priority .”
In a statement Ms Richards said over the last three years it had been her pleasure to help the community through difficult times .
“ As this election is now over , I truly am proud of the legacy my candidacy will leave ,” she said on Facebook . “ A headspace in Katoomba and soon one for the Hawkesbury , funding for the Hawkesbury River Third Crossing , a Veterans Wellbeing Centre at Scheyville and a multimillion dollar upgrade to Glenbrook Oval ( amongst many more ).
“ I also note my pledges to fix Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains roads have been matched , so I look forward to seeing that delivered also .”
Ms Richards wished Ms Templeman well through the challenges ahead and thanked everyone who supported her campaign – family , friends , colleagues and volunteers .
