The Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit association which represents the Hawkesbury ’ s Business & Industrial Communities . We aim to provide opportunities for our local business owners to meet and share their ideas in a friendly atmosphere of like minded people . We also seek to represent to local , state and federal governments the issues affecting businesses in the Hawkesbury .

Breakfast meeting gets us talking Business finance and avoiding insolvency was a popular topic featured two guest speakers at our April breakfast meeting . Trent McMillen from MacInsolvency and Gavin King from Condon and Associates covered issues including ATO debt , signs of a business being in financial trouble and changes to legislation designed to protect businesses struggling from impact of COVID-19 . We also had a Business Hotspot on insurance from Rachael Stewart from Tungsten Insurance .
Chamber of Commerce at Anzac Day Services The Chamber was invited to lay wreaths at the Windsor RSL dawn service and the Western Sydney University Hawkesbury Campus morning service . Our President , Angela Dye , proudly represented us at both services .

Jan Clifton from Figgy Boutique in Richmond Figgy Boutique is the home of Figgy The Label which is Jan ’ s own designer fashion label and a first for the Hawkesbury . It is both ethical and sustainable . She uses recycled natural fabrics such as linen and cotton and are geared towards zero waste . Men ’ s designs coming soon . Take a look at what Hawkesbury City Council has in store for our district now , and into the next decade , by checking out its proposed strategic , delivery , operational and financial plans currently on public exhibition .
You have until Monday , 16 May , to make a submission on the :
· draft 20-year community strategic plan
· draft 2022-2026 delivery program
· draft 2022 / 23 operational plan and budget
· draft long term financial plan
As part of the operational plan , council is proposing to review its rates structure and gives two options for ratepayers to consider – using a rates base rate of 30 per cent or using a base rate of 50 per cent to calculate your property ’ s charges .
It has prepared a ready reckoner calculator you can use to estimate how much your rates will go up within its three rate-pegging options for residential , business and farmland categories .

You can find the specific details on property rates charges in the operational plan ’ s ‘ additional information ’ document .
Council ’ s Community Strategic Plan sets out the 20-year vision for the Hawkesbury developed with community consultation ; the Delivery Program outlines the key priorities and activities it will be delivering in the next financial year based on the strategic plan .
Its Long-Term Financial Plan is a 10- year resourcing plan that projects and demonstrates how the objectives of the other three plans will be resourced and funded .
Every ratepayer is being encouraged to view and provide feedback on these four draft plans and three rate peg options at yourhawkesbury-yoursay . com . au .
The draft plans can be viewed online at hawkesbury . nsw . gov . au and hard copies are available at its George Street Windsor administration centre , from 9am to 4pm weekdays .

Wednesday 11th May is the date for a special Hawkesbury event to celebrate the huge contribution made by local business women and featuring Naomi Simson ( think Red Balloon , TV show the Shark Tank , and Big Red ) who is also launching her new book . This will be an opportunity to network , tell others about what you do and hear some great speakers whilst enjoying a delicious meal , hosted by The Richmond Club . See opposite for more details .

Prior to starting her own businesses more than two decades ago she had a career in corporate marketing with companies such as IBM , Ansett and Apple Computer and she is also the author of several books .
