Rebuild , Recharge , Renew : Small Business Month in the Hawkesbury
Hawkesbury City Council is celebrating Small Business Month in collaboration with Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce by hosting a free Business Lunch and Learn on Wednesday , 30 March 2022 at Richmond Club .
The Mayor of Hawkesbury , Councillor Patrick Conolly , a small business accountant himself , is encouraging Hawkesbury small business owners to come along .
“ The Lunch and Learn will provide an opportunity for small business owners to discover new business skills , be inspired and build networking relationships ,” Mayor Conolly said .
“ We have two inspiring speakers and you ’ ll also receive strategic tools to help your business grow in future .
“ I hope as many local small business owners as possible can come along to enjoy this free event ,” he said .
“ Council is proud to host this Small Business Month – Lunch and Learn event as part of the 2022 NSW Small Business Month program , in partnership with the NSW Government and in collaboration with Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce .”
Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of networking with other small businesses , a light lunch , and the opportunity to listen to and be engaged by Karen Lebsanft and Naomi
Simson . Ms Lebsanft started working in the restaurant industry 26 years ago and she is now the CEO and Co-Founding Director of The Kurrajong Kitchen Group and Proud Burra Burra Woman .
Ms Lebsanft will share her real-life stories and experiences to inspire and motivate you to lead your business towards future success , along with providing insight and tools on the Small Business Month theme ‘ How to Grow your Business ’.
Naomi Simson is the founder of RedBalloon and co-founder of the Big Red Group . It will be Ms Simson ’ s first time visiting the Hawkesbury . Naomi Simson is well known as the Red Shark on the Australian Television show ‘ Shark Tank ’.
She has spent 20 years working in corporate marketing with companies such as IBM , Ansett and Apple Computer and she is also the author of several books .
Ms Simson will share her journey to success that began as a home business with a just few thousand dollars .

Harvest is again sponsoring a photographic portraiture prize as part of the 2022 Hawkesbury Show from 6 to 8 May .
Farms ‘ n Faces invites all photographers and any budding ones too , to capture the essence of our region ’ s farming characters in a portraiture composition .
It ’ s one of the ways we hope to strengthen the bonds between city and country , and a great way for our farming families to highlight their role in the food and fibre we all use .
The portraits should evoke the connection with land , the produce and toil involved , and do so in compositions that reveal the heart and soul of our farming heritage and culture .
There ’ ll be 1st , 2nd and 3rd prizes in adult and junior classes of entry , with prize money totalling $ 500 .
An independent and experienced judge will select the best of the works for prizes , but they ’ ll all be on display in the Agriculture Pavilion at the Hawkesbury Show from the 6 to 8 May .
