In my first term on Council , I ’ ve worked hard to prove myself as an ethical leader , driven by community concerns and , as a scientist , an evidenced-based approach .
I am the current chair of the Heritage Advisory Committee . I established and led the Wetlands Working Group , and the Town Centres Working Group that helped secure $ 18.75 million for the revitalisation of Windsor , Richmond and South Windsor , business supports , and the
It ’ s possible to create a fairer and cleaner future for all stunning murals in Windsor Mall .
My work on Council has resulted in greater speaking rights for community members , support for marriage equality and transgender people , free rent for The Women ’ s Cottage , showers for homeless people , Council growing silage for drought affected local farmers , wetlands protections , 100 % renewable power , 2030 zero emissions targets , urban tree planting projects , and a review of the Companion Animal Shelter that means that more than 97 % of all dogs are now safely rehomed .
I want the Hawkesbury to continue to be a place of great natural beauty , heritage and agriculture , where we can comfortably raise our families and live good lives .
I want our community to celebrate our diversity and face the future with resilience and hope . We need to all work together to protect our environment and heritage from threats of overdevelopment , increasing heat , sand mining ,
and inappropriate and ill-thought-out infrastructure projects .
I will continue to work to bring our town centres back to life , protect our wetlands , rivers and bushland , make Council more consultative , and deliver the infrastructure our community needs .
As a member of The Greens , I am committed to our shared values of environmental sustainability , grassroots democracy , peace and non-violence , and social justice .
The Greens do not accept donations from big business , and Greens Councillors are directly accountable to their local community , not party head office . When you vote for a Greens Councillor , you know you ’ ll continue to get someone with the courage and commitment to fight for the Hawkesbury community .
The Greens have big plans for the Hawkesbury : better active transport links ; platypus-friendly planning ; First Nations , young people and community members on all Council committees ; shaded parks ; free vouchers to local pools ; FOGO collection ; zero waste events ; urban heat mitigation ; disaster preparedness ; and genuine affordable housing targets .
I ’ ll continue to work hard to deliver all these and more .
