A student filmmaker at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Olivia is competing to obtain valuable on-the-job experience and learn first-hand how to produce a short film – and has the opportunity to win big. Olivia is the only female director this year and has a number of women on her crew which is rare in the industry! She is currently wrapping production on her short film “See Your Dreams” which will be live for public online viewing and voting the week of March 24 through May 15 at Sprite.com/films. In April and May, Sprite Films will promote Olivia and the finalists via a trailer in select movie theaters nationwide. A group of film industry experts will crown the Green Ribbon Panel winner with the opportunity to work on a Sprite brand project with an agency that does business with The Coca-Cola Company. In addition, the Green Ribbon Panel winner will see their winning short film debut in select theaters across the country in August 2014. America will select the student winner of the Fan Favorite Award: A $5,000 donation will be made to their university’s film department and a special trip to AFI FEST, the American Film Institute’s (AFI) film festival, will also be awarded in November. Olivia Day (director) and her teammate Akmyrat Tuyliyev (producer), both from the Savannah College of Art and Design, will be heading to CinemaCon – the gathering of the motion picture theatre industry – the week of March 24, 2014 in Las Vegas. At CinemaCon, finalists will have the opportunity to meet with influential directors and well-known actors who will share insight into the film industry and provide guidance on this journey.
