Childhood Cancer in Hawai ‘ i

• Childhood cancer is rare with less than one percent of all cancers occurring in individuals ages 19 years and under .
• Approximately 59 children ( ages 19 and under ) are diagnosed with cancer each year in Hawai ‘ i .
• Cancer is the third leading cause of death in Hawai ‘ i among children ages 1 to 14 years old .
