My Home in Calgary
Living in Calgary, one place I lived in was a newly renovated fourplex divided by concrete. I could hear upstairs sometimes, but never next door. It started off with me on the phone with one of my good friends and I don’t even remember how we got onto this topic, but we were talking about spirits. Every time the word spirit or ghost was said, the phones would disconnect. We never had this happen on any conversations we’ve had and after a while we noticed these words were the trigger for this happening, so we did a few tests over the next few days and 99% of the time these words were mentioned, the phone would disconnect. We also tested this while we were in the same room together to prove we weren’t playing a joke on each other and we proved neither of us was.
In addition to this, two ladies who lived upstairs suddenly moved out and moved out instantly. The owner had no idea why, but thought it was odd because they were quite happy living there previously. There was one door into our side of the units that led down to the stairs to my suite and led to stairs up to the upper suite. No one could get in without me knowing or seeing and the exterior door would always remain locked.
One night shortly after these ladies moved out, I started hearing the sounds of someone walking on the hardwood floor and doors opening and closing. After a few days of hearing this, I went up to check that the doors were all locked, which they were (both the exterior door and the door to their suite). A few days later of this activity continuing I contacted the owner and he assured me that no one aside from him had keys and he had not been there and he wasn’t aware of anyone coming around. I told him what was going on, so he came over one day and checked that everything was locked and left me the key to see next time I hear these noises.
I made my friend who was experiencing these calls with me come over since he was a big tough guy and I wanted someone there who could help debunk or verify what was going on. So soon after he arrived in the evening, I checked all the doors which were locked and we started watching TV to hear the sounds of someone walking in the suite above. We listened for a little while, and then decided to go investigate. I opened the door and we saw nothing, there was no sign of anyone. I checked the interior doors because when I was last in there with the owner I took note that all of the doors were left open and the owner left when I did and hadn’t returned since. The bathroom door was closed. I opened it and we saw nothing. We even checked the windows and all were closed and we checked to see if the heating could have closed the door and there was no way. The doors were the old heavy solid wood doors with knobs that did not turn easy. I can’t see how the door could have closed accidently, it doesn’t seem possible.
So we went back downstairs and soon after heard someone walking up there again, but we were just there and knew no one was in the house other than us. My friend soon left and I spent the rest of the night listening to someone walking on the hardwood floor. The point to note is that the one suite on the other side was also vacant at the time and the other unit was empty as those renters were not in town.
