Grey-ffiti
Older residents in East Sussex have been learning about graffiti art thanks
to an intergenerational project funded by the Safer Rother Partnership.
The ‘Grey-ffiti’ project was supported by local graffiti artist, Drew Copus,
and a group of hard working young volunteers.
The group learnt spray painting skills, planning their art and practising on
canvas. They then transferred their new found artistic skills to the laundry
room walls of Roosevelt Court, St Leonards (with permission!).
Everyone worked together to design the artwork based on their own
personal stories. They created the stencils and painted the walls with the
help of the volunteers.
At a celebration event in April, attended by the local Mayor, the group
unveiled their work.
