By Geneve Joyce Lungay Layout by Glenice Marie Manalang Would you agree with me if I say, “Great things come in simple packages”? I do and my sentiment goes to LOUDBASSTARD when I first saw it. Make a guess on how it got its name and I’m sure the moral flags are down. Make a guess on the craft scale, and I’m sure LOUDBASSTARD’s rate is more than your numbers. Definitely, LOUDBASSTARD lives up to its name. A painted and carved bamboo as an awesome amplifier dock for all smartphones is what LOUDBASSTARD is. It originated from the concept of two friends, Koh Onozawa and Franz Ignacio (with contribution from Julie Ghafari, Koh’s girlfriend). Well, the guys were on hiking off on the mountains of Cebu October of last year to find inspiration for a furniture line they wanted to put up as a business. Something that Julie demonstrated, putting her iPhone and placed it in a cup and out came the LOUDBASSTARD. But what is LOUDBASSTARD all about? You have two uncommon things merging in the concept department—innovation and the basic and the new stuff. It’s kinda cool that LOUDBASSTARD was aptly called because it comes across a cross section of the youth market. It earns youthful reputation and that “bastard” stuff of being restless. I personally like LOUDBASSTARD because it does not require any battery life support system. One just needs to plug the device with a need for an I phone or a smartphone to allow it to set by itself. If you put it inside the hole of the dock, the amplifier sheds sounds on a louder, crispier and natural sound. Cool, right? But what’s elegant with LOUDBASSTARD is the fact that it is not only environmentally friendly, but truly Filipino-made and owned. Its founders, Onozowa and Ignacio, are fully aware of how competitive the market is. But what makes LOUDBASSTARD a mere chilly thing is the fact that it is a product of ingenuity, passion and commitment to quality. It upholds the very nature of supporting Cebu in terms of craftsmanship and innovation. It promotes Filipino products. It’s edgy by overall character, nationalistic in form and firm to the thinking, “Made in the Philippines”. It’s all in the quality. Each LOUDBASSTARD is carefully crafted with pure hard work and hard labor. It is low maintenance. Its so easy to use and for the mobile in you, the stuff is convenient to carry wherever you want to go. It could be anyone’s cozy companion, especially when you imagine yourself in the mood for some good music, or simply bonding with family by the seashore. It makes the music and your trip activities a mighty simple experience. 33
