One of HASHTAG MAGAZINE’s favorite designers, ChristinaSonia recently spoke with Meru Merus founder, Umair Khan. Enjoy!

ChristineSonia (CS): Meru, what a treat for me! I get the opportunity to interview you again, on your latest work! First, I’d like to thank you for this opportunity and for being a part of the first 2017 issue of Hashtag American Magazine. Let’s talk a little design! For the last collection you showcased, you mentioned it was inspired by a barrel cactus, with all that stunning fall colored sequined detail... What can you tell us about your upcoming collection?

Meru Merus (MM): Hi there Christine, great talking to you too! My Meru Merus 2016 F/W collection consists of 19 pieces. Each piece is uniquely designed to fulfill the interpretation of my inspiration. In this collection, I have used more seams to fit than the darts fit technique.

CS: And the inspiration behind it?

MM: Tulips and the fall sky colors. This collection uniquely crafted to eclipse a women's sensuality at a same time to empowering them.

CS: How did you select the fabrics used for this collection?
