kit T H E Storing wine Instant Expert Sip Sip Hooray Q. What should we consider when storing wine? A. Temperature, humidity and brightness are the main elements because all of them could cause problems to the wine. 12º-14ºC is an average good temperature for both white and red. Humidity lets the cork do its job, and candle-like light permits the wine to sleep. Altogether, these conditions lead the wine away from being tempted to a further fermentation in the bottle. Needless to say that a wine is also meant to be drunk so it will not last for ever even in perfect storage conditions – keep drinking!” Q. How long does wine last after it opened? A. “It depends but considering my wine drinker’s attitude and in respect of my philosophy and commitment towards the sommelier’s world – I wouldn’t keep an opened bottle more than 24 hours and if you cannot manage to drink a bottle of wine with someone else within this time, well, probably that wine is not to your taste.” Q. How do you recommend saving wine after it is opened? A. “The Vacu Vin Wine Saver is an excellent tool to keep a bottle of wine opened long enough to enjoy the wine at different times and I have personally used it many times for guests willing to keep half of the wine for the day after.” Vacu Vin Champagne Stopper RRP: £3.99 Harts Price: £3.19 Hahn Pisa Chrome Wine Rack - 4 Bottle Hahn Pisa Chrome Pyramid Wine Rack - 6 Bottle Bar Craft Stainless Steel Wall Mounted Wine Rack Vacu Vin Wine Stoppers Brown Set Of 2 Harts Price: £15.00 RRP: £18.49 Harts Price: £16.64 Harts Price: £22.00 Harts Price: £2.39 47 Vacu Vin Wine Saver Black RRP: £8.99 Harts Price: £7.19
