FAQ's
What are Hall Subs?
Hall subs are a fee that every resident of HF must pay each year that you live there. They are £90 for Freshers, £30 for Returners and £20 for affiliates. They go towards everything that we do in HF (such as HF day) to make your experience amazing, and includes Freshers Week. You can pay for these on the LSU website.
What are Freshers Fees?
Freshers fees are something that you have to pay in your first year only. This is to cover the additional tennancy given that freshers arrive earlier than other students.
What if I don't drink?
If you don't drink for whatever reason then that's totally fine! Each year we have a number of people that either don't drink a lot, or not at all. We will not force anyone to drink alcohol during freshers, it is entirely up to you!
What's the difference between courts and lodges?
Courts are located on the right side of Ashby Road as you are looking at the uni. They are made up of lettered blocks with 4ft beds in them. Lodges are located a little further down Ashby Road on the left. They have single beds and a bath as well as a shower in the bathrooms.
Who am I living with?
You will find out who you will be sharing your flat with on move in day. Although that seems like a scary prospect, everyone is in the same boat, and your flatmates usually become your best friends in HF.
If you have any other questions at all then please get in contact with someone on the Harry French Facebook Page. There are no stupid questions, chances are someone is wanting to ask the same thing!
