PENTATONIC SCALE

A major diatonic scale with the 4th and 7th intervals removed. A pentatonic scale can be played in any key. The nature of the scale makes it impossible to make any“ wrong notes.”

DIATONIC SCALE

BELL

A basic 7 note musical scale, which can be played in any key. The first note of the scale determines the key. The white keys on a piano are arranged in the C major scale.

A type of metallophone, typically consisting of a hollow cavity; some bells known as bell plates are completely flat.

CHIME A type of metallophone that consists of metal tubes; typically producing bright, ringing sounds.

DRUM

A percussion instrument consisting of a membrane mounted upon / stretched over a frame. A drum can be struck with either hands or mallets. Drums often produce a range of indefinite pitches that compliment other pitched instruments.

MARIMBA

A pitched percussion musical instrument consisting of wooden bars or other materials of a similar nature. Marimbas often have resonators located underneath the bars which harvest and amplify sound waves.

METALLOPHONE A percussion musical instrument consisting of metal objects such as bars, tubes, or plates.
