organized crime unit
Sgt. Jesus Sanchez leads the Organized Crime Unit which investigates
crimes involving drugs, gangs, and other criminal enterprises. Over the past
year the unit has executed 29 search warrants. HPD has been awarded
approximately $160,000 by the State Asset Forfeitures and $100,000
by Federal Asset Forefeitures The unit has investigators assigned to
taskforces working with DEA, FBI, HIDTA and US Marshalls Service.
Through collaboration with the Major Crimes Unit and US Marshalls,
OCU was instrumental in the arrest of multiple violent offenders. The
unit also includes a warrant offi cer who executed over 1,457 warrants.
