Harlingen S.W.A.T.
The HPD SWAT Team consists of Offi cers that have been highly trained
to tackle situations beyond the capability of conventional police. The
SWAT team was formed in 2001. The team trains together month-
ly, and is utilized for all high risk search warrants, arrests warrants, fel-
ony arrest warrants and narcotic search warrants. The team consists
of an entry team, perimeter team, a sniper team and a negotiations
team. Two commanders share the responsibility of SWAT commander.
