Become a Member! Funding is our biggest challenge and to date we are very
happy to acknowledge that our members have contributed just over $169,000 of
our 2013 goal of $350,000. In essence that means that we need to raise another
$181,000 to meet our expenses. Why not become a member right now and make a
tax-deductible contribution? Please join us in keeping Boca Grande, and the
Community Center, special.
Consider volunteering! Join the staff in the office to help sell tickets or
answer phones during the busy season; sign up to be a volunteer for the Civil War
Reflections symposium; learn how to operate the projection equipment and show
movies; if you have special knowledge on a topic of interest – consider giving a
lecture; or sharing your interests in other ways.
Talk us up! Did you know that Boca Grande is one of ONLY two locations on
the West Coast of Florida to be featuring National Theatre Live!? Help us fill the auditorium by spreading the word on this outstanding opportunity to watch live theatre.
Become a Sponsor Sponsorship opportunities are available and are an
important way for you to help specific programs at the Community Center. Call the
office at 964-0827 to find out more about becoming a sponsor and showcasing your
support.
Support the Dee Wheeler Scholarship Fund This fund helps
families living or working on the island who need their children to attend After
School Care or Summer Camp, but cannot afford it. This year we have given eight
scholarships for summer camp and expect to give another ten scholarships for after
school.
More information about all activities can be
found on the community calendar website
www.bocagrandehappenings.org and the
Friend’s website www.friendsofbocagrande.org.
