a confidante . I try to be that person for them , and they respond by giving us amazing evidence . I like to think that means I ’ ve helped them , and their existences have become less difficult because of me .
It was to help the little girl haunting the school that I turned my thoughts . Breathe in , breathe out . Inhale , exhale . Imagine myself giving off a vibe that lets this girl know I ’ m here to help . Imagine that vibe flying like a radio signal toward her spirit . I did all this while we walked through the empty , dust-covered cafeteria and into the school hallways .
If the outside of the school was foreboding , the inside was worse . It wasn ’ t just how decayed the place was or the many broken chairs and lockers scattered around the halls . It was as if the atmosphere itself was heavy with pain and suffering . Like a thousand people had cried and been abused in these halls , their pain tainting the very air . No happy memories pervaded these halls , not anymore . It felt bad enough that I considered bolting and getting back inside the RV — investigation be damned . I stayed though . We all did . We were there for an investigation after all .
We first went to the auditorium . Since it was pitch dark , we turned on the night-vision mode on our cameras and used that to get around . We spent about half an hour on the stage trying to gather visual and auditory evidence . I pulled out a voice box , which scans radio frequencies at four bands a second . The idea is any voice that comes through clearly won ’ t be a radio voice , but that of a spirit .
