Now, this is going to be my last suggestion and maybe one of the most important lessons I have learned so far; Being a procrastinator truly is a lifestyle – it is not just a learned behavior. I know I can remember as a child/teenager always leaving my school projects to the last minute. I don’t know exactly why, but I truly believe that is just the way I was wired in this lifetime…and that’s OK!

What is most important is to make sure you figure out how to time manage when you know you leave everything to the last minute. Even now, I have absolutely left preparing this story to the last week, BUT I mapped it out in my head and figured out how long it would take to write; I knew I could not leave it until the night before because I would just be scrambling and the finished product would not be to my standards. Have an awareness of your productivity and efficiency and set attainable goals for yourself.

As I mentioned before, this is something deeply rooted within us, so accept it, learn about it and understand how to work with it.

I truly hope that if you are a procrastinator like me, some of these tips can help you combat a challenging work ethic. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your style, so don’t get down on yourself for choosing to lounge on the couch drinking tea one day over conquering your checklists. If you give yourself patience and compassion, you will find a beautiful working relationship within yourself that will be both productive and rewarding.

Manage

your time.
