Through blogging, I can also get people signed up to my email list, which gives me more opportunities to reach them, get them into my shop, and checking out my products.

I also pin content from other people that is related to what I blog about plus other interests that my target audience has based on Pinterest insights. The idea is to draw in followers that are going to be interested in my content as well. You can’t just pin your own content all day long because you’ll get flagged for being spammy. Also, it’s kind of rude. There’s so much amazing content out there to share. Your audience will appreciate you pointing them to other incredible posts or listings. Otherwise, they feel like you’re just being friendly with them in order to make a sale.

So, if I write and pin a post about how to throw a mermaid birthday party (linking to my starfish headbands), then I’m also going to pin other mermaid birthday-themed pins. It’s good Pinterest and blogging etiquette.
