While it’s not “Philly-centric,” like many local clothing brands full of soft pretzels, The Liberty Bell, and other icons of the city, Hippie Brand Co. focuses on more universal appeal and is a minimalistic brand that you could just as easily see on someone in SoCal.

The local appeal for the brand comes from McGarry’s natural outgoing spirit. She’d much rather host a pop-up party than market to the masses. Neighbors spot each other wearing one of her “hands-free hip bags” and smile. Somebody always knows somebody that knows Michelle. That personal connection has been the cornerstone of her company’s development.
