We’ve spent a lot of time discussing the importance of proper marketing. We were surprised to learn how many people struggled with the concept of paid advertising. These are just few of the answers that stood out to us. Don’t forget to submit an answer for the July 2016 issues question below.

I had promoted listings on Etsy. Although I got some views, they did not translate to sales! And in the end, I was spending much more than I had made (not hard to do as I have only made two sales). I reverted to just trying to make my tags better. I want to know how to get the views that translate to sales without what seems like wasting money. - Isha Clarke, Dube M Jewellery

We've tried Facebook ads, boosted pins, and Etsy ads. All have been fairly successful. We spend a lot of time on photography for The Leather Quill Shoppe, so boosted pins have been a great traffic driver. Facebook and Etsy ads have been hit or miss. - Mandy Jean Bruner, Shop Mandy Jean Chic
