The city is also home to Smith College , a topranked women ’ s liberal arts college with an art museum where you can see both a Picasso and an exquisitely painted restroom . We boast two historic theaters , too many bookstores to count , several breweries , and a bountiful farmer ’ s market . People who travel here be warned : Northampton casts a strange spell that might have you moving here within a year , swapping a hyper-speed life for a chill pace in a cosmopolitan , close-knit city .
