Other Ideas for Rituals
› Buy a special candle and light it at times that are meaningful to your loved one ’ s memory ( New Year ’ s Eve , birthdays , Father ’ s day , etc .)
› Create a scholarship fund or a memorial gift in your loved one ’ s name
› Create a Christmas ornament that symbolically represents your loved one
› Have a loved one ’ s ring or another piece of jewelry reset for you or another member of your family
› Plant a strong , healthy tree or shrub in memory of your loved one
› Have a “ memory ” evening , inviting family and friends to share pictures , stories , and memories about your loved one
› Do something special for someone else that would be in keeping with your loved one ’ s values or beliefs ( feeding the homeless , reading to children , etc .)
› Donate gifts in your loved one ’ s name
› Go to your loved one ’ s favorite places , do their favorite things or make their favorite meals
› Wear a locket with your loved one ’ s picture in it or a bracelet with their name
› Make something with your own hands to memorialize your loved one
