A commitment by ITC It wants to develop entrepreneurship and Islamic Tourism segment leadership

THE ISLAMIC Tourism Center ( ITC ), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism , Arts and Culture Malaysia ( MOTAC ), is determined to empower and develop human capital in the Islamic Tourism segment through entrepreneurship and leadership .

Towards this end , ITC will stage the Islamic Tourism Entrepreneurship and Leadership Seminar ( ITELS ) on Oct 21 , 2021 .
Director-General of ITC , Dato ’ Dr . Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan , said this initiative aimed to attract young people to venture into the growing field of Islamic Tourism .
He said Islamic Tourism was expected to continue to grow . This market segment focused not only on the Middle East and North Africa ( MENA ), but also on Central Asia to Southeast Asia , where the population of Muslim is high .
With the expectation of a growing Muslim population , he added that Islamic tourism has a high potential to become a significant tourism segment .
“ Apart from encouraging and empowering the youth , ITC sees such initiatives able to give the idea of earning income through Islamic Tourism product offerings ,” explained Dato ' Dr Mohmed Razip further .
This ITELS seminar will be held virtually . MOTAC Minister Dato Sri Nancy Shukri is scheduled to deliver the keynote address in the first edition of this seminar .
It also features a partnership from the Majlis Amanah Rakyat ( MARA ), which will focus on financial assistance to tourism entrepreneurs .
An explanation of the Micro Caring Business Financing Scheme ( S3P ) and
DanaNita , a fund to increase women ’ s involvement in entrepreneurship , is among the key topics .
Perbadanan Nasional Berhad ( Pernas ), an agency that leads Malaysia ' s franchise industry will also participate in this seminar . Pernas ’ sharing will focus on financial management aspect which may assist entrepreneurs in their businesses .

The tourism industry is one of the major sectors that contribute to Gross Domestic Product ( GDP ). The development of the halal industry is one of the main agendas of the Malaysian Government in the implementation of the 12th Malaysia Plan drafted by the Malaysian Economic Planning Unit ( EPU ).
The EPU reported that the halal industry was expected to contribute 8.1 per cent of GDP and generate export revenue of RM56 billion by 2025 .
