WE HAVE heard about the endless opportunities the global halal market offers for many years . With the growing Muslim population and international community ’ s awareness of halal , this market is expected to grow to US $ 4.96 trillion by 2030 .

The figure sounds promising , but only resilient players will benefit from it . Therefore , having a comprehensive business strategy is crucial . Every choice picked by businesses will affect their direction moving forward .
Halal players must know that while there are risks in everything , taking the first step - to explore more about their global potential , is what matters . They will never know unless they try .
A good preparation must also be appropriately made by businesses to cater to the global community ’ s needs who seek halal products and services .
Additionally , a good leader who always seeks improvement and betterment of the company is essential . Everyone can be a business owner , but not everyone can be a leader . A good leader is an asset to an organisation .
No leader should think only about his own interest - not in any company or organisation .
Good leaders will know that the value brought about by halal businesses should go beyond the technicalities of halal certification and Shariah compliance . Halal players and leaders , out of all people , should be the ones who uphold honesty and transparency in anything .
Greed and selfishness of these leaders will only put the business and the people who work there at a disadvantage .
Unfortunately , in most cases , people can ’ t pick who their bosses or leaders are . However , at the point where they can , they should - and they must choose wisely because , unfortunately , some leaders can promise you the moon and deliver nothing .
