Pictures McKinley as current president being inaugurated March 4 , 1897 . Interesting to note that McKinley had his second inauguration March 4 , 1901 and died Sept . 14 , 1901 . Roosevelt would have been President when this tray would have been sold . This must have been a leftover stock design that added the text “ Christmas 1901 / New Year 1902 ” to the side panels .
