In 1815 as a General , Jackson allowed the execution of six militia men after a court martial for disobeying orders . Newspapers in support of John Adams seized on this incident during the 1828 campaign creating several varieties of posters and handbills portraying Jackson as a murderer . Moderate edge wear , most notably a 2 ” horizontal tear along left edge just below the top row of coffins . Otherwise moderate age toning and handling wear . VG . This example is two sided and is the largest of the several different broadsides and handbills produced . Fine . An interesting ballot w / clear reference to the Corrupt Bargain of 1824 . Jackson utilized this rhetoric heavily during the 1828 campaign , claiming the will of the people was subverted and that he was cheated out of his rightful election four years prior .
