The button is Hake # 3208 but this example has a tabbed on brass rope rim and spring pin holds 5 ” ribbon . Spring pin suspends a rebus ribbon that reads “ Our ‘ Hat ’ Is In The Ring .” The Hat is a fully three dimensional white metal replica of Roosevelt ’ s Rough Rider hat and it is held to the ribbon 184 by the means of a small brass rivet at the top with a pair of tiny fold over brass prongs on the underside . In addition to being one of the very few rebus ribbons , this is also unusual in that the rebus is actually formed by a three dimensional symbolic object and not just a picture of something substituting for a word .
