HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LEITERS’!
Leiters’ Fine Catering celebrated 20 years in operation under the current owners, Dave and Teri Leiter, and 31 years since its incorporation in 1982. Representing the second generation of family ownership, Dave and Teri purchased the business from Dave’ s parents, Samuel and Virginia“ Be” Leiter, whose history in the restaurant and catering business stretches back to the 1940s and a root beer stand at the former Richardson’ s Snack Bar on Dual Highway. When the couple took over, Teri recalls that catering business quadrupled within the first few years, and they continued to grow by offering event planning and launching a rental company.“ It just made sense,” Teri says.“ Instead of just providing a meal and serving it, we met [ customers ] and offered full event planning— a one-stop shop— and that really took us to another level.” Today, Dave and Teri’ s four children are all involved in the business in some capacity, and Leiters’ employs five full-time event planners.
