US market dominated by trio of top sports
Three sports have c80% of the market
Currently, the three leading US sports dominate
in Nevada, accounting for 79% of gross win.
Basketball generates slightly more gross win
than American Football though H2 believe the
exact share of the sports’ market share is all to
play for. H2 believes that the combined value
of the betting market for these three sports will
increase by c3x by 2030.

Globalisation of the sports should be the
opportunity, and key to even more growth going
forward. Clearly one sport may perform/adapt
better than the others. Basketball has been the
market leader within the sector and already has
profile internationally, the start of the NFL season
has been particularly strong, the nature of baseball
means that it is ideal for live in-play wagering, and
the NHL is also looking to dive in head first.
