What’s the use, only to see it coming
just before it puts out your eye.
Whip smart
at the speed of a knife
narrowed to a point,
while
at the same time
growing wider;
a slice of pie, as it punctures
high price for inner sight,
the lights already starting to blur
into the final turn of the attractor
stretched to a thin filament
around the edge
echoes between all points along its path
while,
on the other side (inside out)
it’s the best, most natural thing
so lucky it could have happened to you
removing the splinter from your eye
designating that interior one,
still as a secret
underground stream
lucky enough to drink from, but
we’ll never see its source
inexhaustible because nothing is ever extracted
only absorbed
